Hello, I’m Fran
Italian in London. Geek and curious. Advocate of portfolio careers. With a past life as a tax consultant. Introvert who loves people.
I just really like photographing people. I do a little dance when my clients tell me that I captured their personalities and relationships, because that’s my ultimate goal: to capture meaningful photographs that tell a story. This is at the heart of my photojournalistic approach to family photography.
I’m fascinated by light and strong colour palettes, and by funny and quirky situations (mostly children being mischievous!). Always into photography, I took a hiatus when my children were little. This is something I really regret, but hanging out with two toddlers wasn’t exactly conducive to carrying a big camera around. As soon as we ditched the buggy, I picked up the camera again and never looked back.
Authenticity is important to me. I’m passionate about capturing real family life in an era of deceit by social media. I just think that ordinary, everyday life is beautiful, with all the good, the bad, and the ugly. And the fun.
Photography aside, you will find me trying to keep up with my two boys and calling tradespeople to fix stuff in our leaky, draughty 120-years old Victorian home which we love very much.

Me and my mum. My parents still live in the same flat, but the 80s wallpaper has gone.

I played the piano for years, I was really bad at it, and I forgot it all.

The first photo I developed in a dark room, taken in the Dominican Republic in 2005. There is something so special about working in a dark room.

A photo from my very first roll of film with my first SLR camera, which was fully manual. I learnt the hard way!

Not only my dad takes beautiful pictures, he can also play many instruments, plays in the same band he formed in the 70s, painted, he can re-wire a house and build furniture.

I lived in the quirky and stunning port town of Genoa for 5 years, and spent a lot of time walking around experimenting with my SLR camera.

In my late teens, I shaved my head. It was a maintenance-free and comfortable haircut, but I find it cringe to look at this photo now!

I have a past life as a qualified tax adviser. It was definitely not as boring as it sounds, and through my job I made friends for life and had the best parties (blurry photo from a trip to Budapest with my work pals).

NYC, 2019. I'd do anything for a good photo!
